“The Supreme Lord who assumed the form of half-man, half-lion in the Satya-yuga to cure a dreadful disease that had devastated the daityas, and who appearing as Rama conquered the ten-headed Ravana in Treta-yuga, and who removed the burden of the earth in the Dvapara-yuga and protected the cowherd men of Vraja-pura, will be the Lord by the name of Caitanya in Kali-yuga. He will have a golden form and will take pleasure in chanting His own sweet holy names.”

The Order Of The Day

“When Sri Gaurahari was visible in this world, resplendent with the luster of molten gold, the entire universe was immersed in the mellows of loving affection for Sri Krsna by His divine inspiration. The order of the day was the sublime process of tumultuous chanting of the holy names of the Lord. Will those sweet days ever return?”

[Srila Prabodhananda Sarasvati, Caitanya-candramrita, Text 139]

ohe śrinivasa! kheda kara sambaraṇa śunite nā jani prāṇa karaye kemana

tumi mora prema-mūrti, nā jāna tā’ tumi nirantara tomāra nikaṭe āchi āmi

mora mano-‘bhīṣṭa ye tā’ aneka prakāre karilu prakāśa rūpa-sanātana dvāre

tomādvāre grantha-ratna kari vitaraṇa haribe jīvera duḥkha diya prema-dhana

ye jana la-ibe asi’ śaraṇa tomāra tāre āmi avaśya kariba aṅgīkara

ha-iba tomāra śiṣya bhāgyavanta-gaṇa tā’ sabā la-iyā āsvādibā saṅkīrtana

konamate kichu cintā nā kariha cite madhye madhye aiche more pāibā dekhite

Katwa, Where Lord Caintaya Took Sannyasa

,

Фотоальбом на FB

Ever since taking sannyasa in 1979, I have had a strong desire to visit the town of Katwa, where Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu took sannyasa 500 years ago.Today my wish was fulfilled when myself and 60 devotees made the 2 hour journey from Sridham Mayapura to Katwa. Naru Gopal prabhu took us to the exact spot where Mahaprabhu was shaved up by a barber and where He took His sannyasa vows from Kesava Bharati Maharaja. He expertly described the pastime in great detail. Afterwards we took darshan of the samadhi where Lord Caitanya’s hair is kept, as well as the samadhi of Kesava Bharati Maharaja. We prayed at the historic tree under which Lord Caitanya’s beautiful long hair was shaved and also bowed down to the samadhi of Das Gadadhar. Naru Gopal explained that Lord Caitanya had kirtan where we were for 3 days straight after taking sannyasa. Following in His footsteps we chanted and danced for hours in front of a beautiful deity of Lord Caitanya in a large temple on the grounds. It was a most wonderful day! All glories to Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu! All glories to Srila Prabhupada!

“The Master sang joyfully in accents astonishingly sweet and charming to the ear, as He moved in the midst of a circle made by His intimate devotees. The ornament of the three worlds, Lord Gauracandra Himself, of all attractive persons the most attractive, dances, in the supreme abode of Nilacala, the temple like a blue mountain.”
[ Sarvabhauma Bhattacarya, Susloka-Satakam, verse 14 ]

As much as one can devote his full attention /

, , ,

Two days ago I arrived back in Vrindavan after a short trip to Australia. Tomorrow I leave Vrindavan to begin my preaching duties in the West. As the years go by it is becoming more and more difficult to leave this transcendental abode. But leave we must for it is the order of Srila Prabhupada that his followers share their good fortune all over the world. Today I discovered an old photo of myself following in Srila Prabhupada’s footsteps. I took it to mean that as he left Vrindavan to preach so must I. And it is that very service which qualifies us to come back to Vrindavan in due course of time. I take shelter in the words of Srila Prabodhananda Saraswati:
“One who is extremely fortunate may get the mercy of Caitanya Mahaprabhu. As much as one can devote his full attention to the lotus feet of Lord Caitanya, to that extent he will be able to taste the nectarine service of the lotus feet of Srimati Radharani in Vrindavan. The more one engages in the service of Sri Caitanya, the more one finds oneself in Vrindavan, tasting the nectar of the service of Sri Radha.” [ Caitanya Candramrta, text 88 ]

Preparing My Mind and Heart for Gaura Purnima

Verse 1: “Seeing that the spotless full moon has risen on the earth in the home of Sachi, the spotted full-moon hid itself in great shame on the pretext of a lunar eclipse.”

Verse 2: “The town of Nadia swooned in joy. At this auspicious time, everyone gave various types of riches in charity. They all loudly chanted, “Haribol! Haribol!”

Verse 3: “The young damsels of Nadia felt blinded with joy. Somehow they all approached Sachi’s home. Seeing Gorachand’s face, their eyes were filled with overflowing tears, and the sprout of deep-seated love sprung up in their hearts.”

Verse 4: “Spreading out their two arms, they all took him into their laps one by one and kissed his lotus-face. Dina Bandhu Das says, “The [sight of the] son of Sachi is obtained only after accumulating piety for a long time.”

, ,

FB : Where Lord Caitanya Traveled
